Pre-tan tips
Exfoliate ATLEAST 24 Hours before your appointment.
Shower 24 hours before your appointment, pores need time to close before the application.
Wax and Shave 48 hours before your appointment, as waxy residue can cause discoloration.
Drink plenty of water the week of your appointment. This will help plump and hydrate your skin!
Manicures, Pedicures, Lashes, Massages, Spa Treatments, facial & body waxing should be done AT LEAST 24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment
WHEN BOOKING FOR AN EVENT OR WEDDING, A SPRAY TAN IS THE LAST APPOINTMENT YOU BOOK!
Day of the appointment
Do NOT wear any makeup, creams, sunscreen, or perfume. Your skin must be 100% clean and dry!
Do NOT wear any deodorant that day.
If you must, shower at least 3 hours before your apt with warm-cold water and only rinse. Steam can open up your pores. But please shower the day before for perfect results.
Do NOT use lotion, gel, wax, shaving cream or other oil-based products, as they could leave residues on the skin and prevent the solution from developing correctly.
You can wear a bathing suit, undergarments, or nothing at all. I recommend black or dark, and remember, you create the tan lines!
Dress for the weather when leaving your appointment. Wear dark, loose fitting clothing, no bras, no leggings or tight clingy clothing.
Please note, some spray tan residue may come off on your clothing. However it will easily be removed in the wash.
During development
AVOID activities that provoke sweating or any contact with water/liquids. If it's raining or snowing, make sure you cover up.
Do NOT apply creams or makeup on your skin.
If your sleeping with the solution on, wear long sleeves.
AVOID skin on skin contact. (intimacy, breastfeeding) (wear socks to bed)
When rinsing, rinse the whole body and face thoroughly, until the water runs clear. Do not use any soap/shampoo during the first shower.
Pat, don't rub skin dry.
Post-Tan
Do NOT wax, a delicate shave may be done occasionally.
Moisturize daily and AVOID products with a lot of: (including soaps and body wash)
MINERAL OILS | PETROLIUM | PERFUME | ALCOHOL | SULFATE
AVOID excessive sweating, jacuzzies and saunas, as well as taking long hot baths or showers can often cause faster fading.
Use gentle cleansers, and no oil-based or exfoliating products. Start exfoliating ONLY when the tan starts to fade, and you're ready to say goodbye.
Spray tans can cause the skin to be very thirsty, stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
Booking Policies
Cancelations
Please give us more then 24 hours notice for cancellation if you wish to avoid a late cancellation fee. Clients cancelling within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment will be required to pay 50% of the service in order to continue booking at Makeup by Elisha.
If you cancel within 5 hours of your scheduled appointment you will be required to pay for the service IN FULL in order to re-book with Makeup by Elisha.
No Shows
If you are a no show either on location or in studio you will be subject to pay the FULL AMOUNT of the service in order to re-book with Makeup by Elisha.
Clients who do not show more than once will be required to pay in full before any future appointments.
Payment
We do not offer refunds on the completed services, due to the nature of the services. We accept e-transfer and cash.
Bridal / Group Bookings
We require a 25% non-refundable non-transferable retainer for any bridal or group bookings.
FAQ's
When to book?
When booking your GLOW you'll want to book it 2-3 days before your event to ensure that you have the perfect colour. Our regular solutions require a sitting time of 8-12 hours, and our rapid solutions only need 1-5 hours on the skin. Please plan your day accordingly.
Will I go orange?
No! If you follow the before and after prep tips then you should achieve the perfect sun kissed glow! However, if you leave the solution on for longer then suggested, this may result in not an ideal colouring.
How long is the appointment?
From start to finish it is approx. 30 mins.
How long will my tan last?
7-10 days, unfortunately spray tans don't last forever. But keep moisturized and drinking plenty of water and your tan should fade evenly. When you're ready to say goodbye to your tan start exfoliating and getting ready to come again!
My tan looks really dark and I'm starting to freak out!
Don't worry, your tan will look much darker before you shower for the first time. Your tan is developing and since there is a bronzer in the initial spray you will look much darker till you wash it off. Then you will have a beautiful golden colour.
Is my tan washing off when I shower?
No! When we spray on the solution, there is a bronzer to give you that instant gratification, When you shower, the bronzer will wash off (this is why you only rinse for your first shower) this is not your spray tan!
Will it stain my clothes or sheets?
The colour bronzer washes our of most materials, however it is not guaranteed. We suggest wearing dark loose clothing while the tan is developing.
